5.6-magnitude quake hits East of North Island, New Zealand — GFZ

BEIJING, Sept. 7 (Xinhua) — An earthquake with a magnitude of 5.6 jolted East of North Island, New Zealand at 2024-09-06 17:30:40 GMT on Friday (2024-09-07 01:30:40 Beijing Time), the GFZ German Research Centre for Geosciences said.
The epicenter, with a depth of 10.0 km, was initially determined to be at 35.31 degrees south latitude and 179.42 degrees west longitude. ■
